Where we work
Tree surveys and tree work in Sedbergh and the Yorkshire Dales.
Tree surveys, planning tree reports and tree work in Sedbergh, Dent and the Yorkshire Dales side of Cumbria.
We work in Sedbergh and the villages around it, on the Cumbrian side of the Yorkshire Dales. It is a short drive from our base in the South Lakes.
The National Park rules
Sedbergh sits inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park, so tree work and planning applications here go through the National Park Authority, not Westmorland and Furness Council. Some trees are protected by Tree Preservation Orders or stand in conservation areas. Before any work, we check each tree. Where notification or consent is needed, we prepare it for you.
What we do here
- Tree surveys for schools, churches, businesses, estates and landowners
- Planning tree reports (BS5837) for extensions, conversions and new housing
- Home buyers' tree reports for properties with large trees
- Tree work: felling, sectional dismantling, crown reduction, crown lifting, pruning and hedge cutting
Removing a large oak in Sedbergh
A large oak beside the road in Sedbergh was taken down in sections. The work area was coned and taped off from the road, and the trunk was cut down in controlled stages, with a team on the ground, because of the road, houses and services close by.
