How we use your details.

Who we are

The Care of Trees is run by Matthew Jones, an arboricultural consultant based in the South Lakes, Cumbria. We decide how your personal details are used, and we are responsible for looking after them.

What we collect

When you use the enquiry form, we collect the name, phone number, email address, location and message you type in. When you phone or email us, we keep the details you give us. If we carry out work for you, we also keep the address of the site and the records of the job.

Why we use it

• To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote
• To carry out the survey or tree work, and to invoice you
• To keep the records the law and our insurers require

We do not sell your details, and we do not use them for marketing.

Who sees it

The enquiry form is run by Web3Forms, an outside service that passes your message to us by email. Your emails are handled by our email provider. If you ask us to send a notification to the council on your behalf, we pass on the details needed for that. We do not share your details with anyone else, unless the law requires it.

Cookies and tracking

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. The text is shown in fonts loaded from Google Fonts, so your device’s address is passed to Google when a page loads.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries that do not lead to work for up to two years. We keep records of work, reports and invoices for as long as we need them for tax, insurance and legal reasons, and for the length of time a client may reasonably need us to hold their reports.

Your rights

You can ask to see the details we hold about you, ask us to correct them, or ask us to delete them. Contact us and we will deal with your request. If you are unhappy with how we have used your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
