Where we work

Tree surveys and tree work in Cockermouth.

Tree surveys, planning tree reports and tree work in Cockermouth and the villages of west Cumbria.

Cockermouth stands where the rivers Cocker and Derwent meet, outside the Lake District National Park. Tree work and planning applications here go to Cumberland Council.

Protected trees and conservation areas

Cockermouth has a conservation area, and some of its trees are protected by Tree Preservation Orders. Before any work, we check each tree. Where notification or consent is needed, we prepare it for you.

What we do here

  • Tree surveys for parks, schools, churches, businesses and landowners
  • Planning tree reports (BS5837) for development, with the tree constraints, impact assessment and protection plan
  • Home buyers' tree reports for properties with large trees
  • Tree work: felling, sectional dismantling, crown reduction, pruning and hedge cutting

Trees by the rivers

Trees close to rivers and streams need particular attention. Wet ground and bank erosion can weaken roots, so we look at the roots and the ground as well as the crown.
