Risk Assessment – Duty of Care

Occassionally trees can grow in defective ways or can be affected by disease and ill health which can lead to failure causing damage to property and serious injury and death to people.

The risk of tree failure is small but all landowners have ‘a duty of care’ by law to take reasonable care to ensure that their trees are kept in a safe and structurally sound condition to avoid any possible damage to people and property.

The Care of Trees is able to advise and carry out risk assessments on large areas and populations of trees in a cost effective way. We can use a variety of methods depending on the objectives of management from a tailor made risk assessment to the Quantitative Tree Risk Assessment (QTRA) system, which enables us to carry out an assessment quickly, efficiently and with low cost.
